If you understand well what vaccination is, then the preparation for it will become clear. When vaccinated, a dead or weakened pathogen called an antigen is injected into the dog’s bloodstream. The immune system responds by producing antibodies that destroy the virus. If a real infection had occurred and the virus had not been attenuated, unprepared immunity would not have been able to cope with it. But vaccination “introduces” the body to the virus, and the antibodies produced are present in the blood for about a year. If during this period an infection occurs with the virus from which the vaccine was introduced, the body will meet it fully armed with ready-made antibodies. Immunity will be prepared.

Now it’s clear that great importance in vaccination is given to the immune response to vaccine administration. To “process” the virus and develop a sufficient amount of antibodies can only strong immunity, whose work does not interfere.

10 days before vaccination, the dog is dewormed. This is a prerequisite before the procedure, as infection with helminths greatly affects the immune system. What drugs are better for anthelmintic dog? Use high-quality, proven means: DRONTAL plus (Bayer, Germany), Merial Neksgard, etc.
Only clinically healthy animals are allowed to vaccinate. Eye inflammation, skin rashes, or a small wound – this is the reason to postpone the vaccination.
Vaccination is not recommended during the period of rehabilitation after illness, pregnancy, lactation, tooth change in puppies, estrus in bitches, under stress, etc.
Before vaccination, the animal should not be stressed. Stress weakens the body’s immune defense, which means there is a risk that it will not be able to properly process the antigen.
A couple of days before the proposed vaccination, check the temperature of the dog. If it is elevated, postpone the vaccination and find out the cause.
The regimen of walks and feeding before vaccination does not need to be changed!
